What do I need to bring to the event?
Please bring your mobile ticket with you this can be accessed at myday.halloweenhorrors.co.uk.
Can I share my digital ticket?
Please do not share your digital ticket with others. Tickets are strictly non-transferable. If a ticket is used by someone else your ticket will become null and void and you be required to purchase a new ticket for the event. Please be aware upon your arrival a SMS verification may be sent to your phone upon entry, this must be confimed with our steward before being allowed on site.
Do I need to arrive with my entire group?
Your digital ticket is a single use barcode, you must all enter at the same time through our security check point.
Where can I buy tickets from?
Tickets are available to purchase online here. Those who purchase tickets online will receive an email confirmation of their purchase with an e-ticket which is printable. Please be ready to show your ticket on your mobile device or printed before your tour.
Can I change my tour time or cancel my tour after I have booked?
If you made an account when purchasing your tickets, please login to your account at tickets.halloweenhorrors.co.uk where you may be able to change your booking for an admin fee of £10. Please note that dates and times are subject to availability.
What time should I arrive and if I arrive late, will I still be able to attend?
You should arrive 30 mins before your allotted start time to ensure that you have time to traverse security and take any necessary toilet breaks. The tour must leave on time and will not wait for anyone who is late. There will be no exceptions.
If you arrive late, we will try and include you on a later tour where space permits. However, Fort Amherst Halloween Horrors has no obligation to accommodate those who miss their tour time and in some cases, spaces may not be available.
We are not able to control external factors such as travel disruptions, please ensure you leave sufficient time to attend. A refund cannot be given for those who are late and miss their tour.
Can I get my money back if anyone in my group gets scared?
Some guests find the tour too intense and whilst they can discontinue the tour, no refunds will be given.
What restrictions do you have on age?
Our tours are suitable for ages 13+ ONLY. Guests under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult aged 18+. Our kids tours are suitable for up to 12 years. You maybe required to show photo ID and we reserve the right to refuse anyone who does not have ID and who in the opinion of our management team is under the age of 16 and are not accompanied by an adult 18+.
Individuals must only attend the event if they are old enough to do so. Anyone attending an event for which they are too young, will do so at their own risk and Fort Amherst Halloween Horrors (or its parent charity/company) cannot be held responsible for any adverse effects or other impact of the experience, subsequent rejections, or for those being turned away.
Does the experience use mature themes / sexual references?
Our tours contain mature themes, explicit language, and references of a sexual nature from the very beginning. This includes our health and safety video, which is mandatory to watch for entry into the experience.
Do you have strobe lights, loud noises and fog machines?
Yes, we have flashing lights, smoke effects and loud noises – The event is not suitable for those with epilepsy and asthma. The event is not recommended for pregnant women, persons with a heart condition or those with a nervous disposition.
The event will also include the use of pyrotechnics and other special effects.
Are there actors in the tours?
Yes, we do have trained actors and they will make physical contact with you, please do not touch the actors as you will be removed from the event without a refund. There will be the use of profanity and sexual references.
Is the Event frightening?
This is a terror event and yes… some people find it terrifying! There will be horror scenes, special effects and live actors which create a very frightening experience. The scare mazes have been designed to be frightening.
Will I get wet?
We do use water effects thoughout the tour, so you may get wet!
What do I wear?
Due to the nature of the event and time of year, please wear warm and robust clothing! Fort Amherst will not accept any responsibilty for clothing which is damaged during the experience. It is strongly advised that you do not wear expensive or designer clothing, or clothing of sentimental value. It is forbidden to wear the following:
- Hooped or dangly earrings
- eyebrow, nose & lip rings
- Any other jewellery which is deemed unsuitable.
- Masks.
The tour features uneven ground and we will not admit anyone wearing high heeled shoes – comfortable shoes should be worn.
Can I come in my own Halloween costume?
You are more then welcome to come in a Halloween outfit including clothing and makeup, however face masks (or any costume which covers the face) are forbidden for security reasons.
Is alcohol allowed on site?
You are not allowed to bring your own alcohol on site and if you are found in possession of alcohol, this will be confiscated, and you may be denied entry.
Is smoking allowed?
There is a strict no smoking policy in the queue, holding pens and scare attractions, however smoking is permitted in the designated smoking areas.
Will there be any offensive language?
Yes, the tour will include:
- Use of profantity.
- Use of sexual language and sexual themes.
- use of indirect and direct insults.
Does your attraction have security, and will I be searched?
We will have security and searches will be in operation for the safety and security of our visitors and staff. Fort Amherst Halloween Horrors reserves the right to do this and it is a condition of entry. If any person declines to be searched without good reason they will be refused entry.
Which items are prohibited?
The following items are prohibited and those found in possession of any of these will have them removed and you may be refused entry.
- Any drinks, cans or glass bottles
- Food
- Illegal Drugs
- Liquids, including perfumes
- Deodorants and pressurised containers
- Weapons or improvised weapons including guns, pointed or bladed items, saws, axes, hammers
- Canes or walking sticks
- Umbrellas
- High heeled shoes
- Hooped or dangling jewelry
- Large bags / rucksacks
- Masks
- Professional cameras
- Masks
- Flasks or any solid container
- Any other item which may be judged to cause harm to others
- Torches, lasers or other light sources and flash photography is not permitted during the tours.
Any items which are removed upon entry will not be returned, and will be destroyed

Do you have toilets?
Yes, we have toilets on site.
Can I park at Fort Amherst?
While there is no parking available at the Fort Amherst site, there is parking in the local surrounding car parks which are within 5 mins walking distance – E.G. Riverside (ME4 4SL), Town Hall (ME4 4SF) or St John's (ME4 4JL).
What retail facilities are available?
There will be a professional photographer, a bar, and food options (available for an additional fee).
Are refreshments available?
Refreshment and treats will be available from our on-site vendors.
Is Halloween Horrors wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately, due to the nature of the Historic Fort and the uneven ground, Halloween Horrors is not wheelchair accessible.
Are dogs allowed to attend?
No dogs are allowed, including guide/assistance dogs due to the special effects which may frighten them.

Do you have anywhere to store my belongings?
We do not have the facilities to store any personal property. This includes umbrellas which are not permitted into the event.
